(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) VIEIRA, Evelin Fukumoto; PINTO, Amanda Silva; PULZ, Lidia Hildebrand
Insulinoma is a neoplasm that affects dogs and cats, especially dogs, most often has a malignant character. It is found in the pancreas in the beta cells of the Islets of Langerhans. Its main feature is the high deposition of insulin in the body, causing hypoglycemia in the animal. It is an aggressive and pertinent neoplasm, so physical examinations, anamnesis and complementary exams are essential for the final diagnosis. This way, you can design the best treatment plan for the patient. The objective of this work is to present the main characteristics of this pathology from a literature review.
