    Operating systems are software, or a set of software, whose function is to administer and manage the resources of a system, from hardware components and file systems to third-party programs, establishing the interface between the computer and the user. The operating system introduces a layer of abstraction between the hardware and the user, which transforms commands on the mouse, keyboard and system requests, such as resource management (CPU, RAM), into machine language, sending instructions to the processor.
