    According to the BRF website, with more than 80 years of existence, BRF has become one of the largest food companies in the world, thanks to the birth of its main brands. It was in the 1930s, in the countryside of Santa Catarina, that Perdigão emerged as a small business owned by two families of Italian immigrants. In the following decade, it was Concórdia's turn, also in Santa Catarina, to receive Sadia. Since then, the merger of these two businesses, in 2009, gave rise to one of the largest agro-industrial complexes in the world, BRF
