    The teacher should not have acted that way, first of all he should have checked what that paper was about. The role of the teacher is not restricted only to the transmission of academic knowledge, but also includes the comprehensive training of students, covering social, ethical and emotional aspects. The student felt offended at that moment and this could cause psychological harm to her. A teacher faced with a situation like this should adopt a careful and proactive approach to ensure everyone's well-being, making an immediate intervention, interrupting the class briefly to address the situation, talking to Cátia and the other students, promoting respect and empathy . These are actions that democratic management and the community can act together: One of them is the holding of student assemblies, by class or general, where everyday problems at the school can be discussed, such as cases like this. It can also encourage participation in school and class councils or even implement a PPP, which aims to provide training with citizenship and respect for differences or even the implementation of an interdisciplinary project that addresses topics such as empathy, respect, and assertive communication .
