    Obesity is an epidemic, chronic and multifactorial disease considered one of the most serious health problems in the world. The objective of this project was to carry out a bibliographical review of several psychological thoughts, such as Psychoanalysis and Gestalt, as well as their philosophical and epistemological bases and to raise possible prevention hypotheses through an educational booklet that was distributed in the academic environment and to patients at the Escola do Bem-Estar in order to convince and encourage the search for treatment and maintenance of better health.
