Item Alimentação natural para cães: prós e contras - revisão de literatura(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2022-09-09) ANDRÈ, Andressa Yasmim Fernandes; ALVES, Ana Luiza de Andrade; NUNES, Alanne TenórioCurrently, the changing relationship between pets and tutors has generated interest in food alternatives, which are constantly growing. One of them is natural food, in which, in general, products intended for human consumption are used, such as: meats, fruits, vegetables, eggs, fats and dairy products. These foods can be presented as: extruded, pasteurized, cooked and raw, and have been modified to satisfy different consumption habits, prioritizing the nutrients required by the animal at the moment. The main reasons that lead tutors to change the ration for this type of feeding are: not understanding industrialized food labels, lack of option for a prescription diet in a given clinical situation, personal eating behavior, influence of the internet and friends, desire to cooking for your pet and strengthening the human-animal bond. The search for well-being, quality of life and increased longevity has caused changes in the pet food market. This modality is a potential market and emerged to meet the demand of increasingly demanding owners regarding the food and nutrition of their pets. In order for the animal to benefit from natural food, it is essential that the tutor strictly follows all the indications made by the nutritionist veterinarian.Item Efeitos da nutrição sobre a saúde e bem estar de cães em diferentes fases da vida(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2023-10-18) BIZAIA, Emily Cristina; MORAES, Mariane da Cunha de; NUNES, Alanne TenórioTo guarantee a good quality of life for dogs, correct nutritional management throughout their development is essential. It is known that as puppies, dogs must ingest colostrum to receive immunoglobulins and, later, regular breast milk, until three weeks of age when they can receive solid foods. To meet the demands of the puppies, the bitch must receive adequate amounts of nutrients, considering the requirements throughout the gestational and lactation period. In healthy adult dogs, nutrition must meet requirements and reduce the risk of disease. In the case of dogs with illnesses, nutrition can help with management and treatment. In obesity, for example, energy restriction with fiber administration is recommended to generate satiety; in heart disease, it is necessary to provide a food with high energy density and low sodium content; in chronic kidney disease (CKD), in turn, nutrition must ensure the maintaining the body condition score, helping to reduce azotemia and maintaining acid-base balance. Finally, in the case of elderly dogs, adequate levels of protein must be provided, taking into account in view of the progressive loss of muscle mass. These particularities must be taken into account to ensure the health and well-being throughout all stages of dog development. Therefore, the present work aims to elucidate the importance of establishing adequate nutrition according to the dog's life stage, aiming to assist veterinarians and owners in choosing the best nutritional management.Item Influência do escore de condição corporal sobre o balanço energético negativo de vacas leiteiras(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2022-09-09) MAGALHÃES FILHO, Everton Luis; SOARES, Walkiria Helena R.; NUNES, Alanne TenórioNegative energy balance is a condition that occurs at the beginning of the lactation period, when high production animals are not able to consume enough to meet their nutritional requirements, due to the high utilization of nutrients for lactogenesis. The accumulation of body fat has an influence on metabolism in the period of initiation of lactation, reducing the impacts of diet deficiency. However, animals with a high body condition score tend to suffer more from negative energy balance, resulting in exacerbated catabolic processes, in addition to reproductive dysfunction. The increase in non-esterified fatty acids in the circulation, resulting from lipolysis, leads to an increase in circulating ketone bodies, characterizing a condition of ketosis.Item Uso de anticorpo IGY especifico da gema de ovo no tratamento da parvovirose canina: revisão de literatura(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2023-10-18) MORAIS, Mariane da Cunha de; BIZAIA, Emily Cristina; NUNES, Alanne TenórioParvovirus is a viral disease of great relevance in dogs, causing high mortality in this species. To treat this condition, new alternatives have been used, including immunoglobulins. When chickens are exposed to parvovirus, they produce immunoglobulin Y (IgY), which accumulates in the yolks of their eggs. Studies show that IgY improves the intestinal health of dogs, causing milder symptoms and also increasing the survival rate of these animals.Item Vírus da influenza aviária e seus impactos socioeconômicos(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2023-10-18) CARVALHO, Bárbara; NUNES, Alanne TenórioAvian Influenza (AI) is characterized as a zoonosis and infectious disease of birds caused by the type A influenza virus. The high level of genetic recombination between members of the AI virus of this type allows gene permutations and causes the emergence of new virus strains. All types of H5N1 viruses have a row of basic amino acids at the hemagglutinin (HA) cleavage site and are fatal to chickens, generating systemic infections. Considering the relevance of this topic, the present work aimed to clarify the disease, its clinical signs, diagnosis and treatment, in addition to highlighting its economic repercussions. The results of the literature review demonstrate the need to employ biosafety measures in environments of poultry farms, so that Brazil maintains its status as an AI-free country for trade.
