The National Education Plan (PNE) 2014–2024 seeks, predominantly in its Goal 4, to universalize school attendance for students with disabilities, global developmental disorders and high abilities or giftedness, preferably in the regular education network. The results of the Goal revealed, in different age groups, discrepancies in the access and rate of schooling, literacy and illiteracy between the population with and without disabilities. The observed differences are accentuated in the population with intellectual and motor disabilities. Such data corroborate the need to rebuild the school educational model for the effective inclusion of people with disabilities. Special education from the perspective of inclusion conceives the school space as an environment for carrying out proposals in the light of equality, in which everyone has the right to learn assured, considering the specificities of the subjects, designing adequate services for motor, visual needs , linguistic and cognitive skills of students enrolled in regular schools.

A falta de qualidade da educação básica é um problema que está muito presente nas escolas públicas brasileiras, com resultados bem preocupantes, como, por exemplo, alunos já na etapa do ensino fundamental sem o domínio das habilidades de leitura e escrita. A recorrência do problema têm causado preocupação aos que trabalham, orientam e coordenam a educação básica. Em vista disso, as avaliações externas têm sido uma ferramenta empregada na busca da melhoria da educação. Que por sua vez, tendem a se estruturar com proximidade aos objetivos estratégicos das políticas educacionais, por viabilizarem uma forma de aferir a qualidade que se busca.

A nova direção do colégio Santa Tereza, precisa apresentar as novas propostas e investir na capacitação dos docentes, propor uso de jogos pedagógicos lúdicos, jogos extraclasse para melhorar o interesse dos alunos na sua aprendizagem. Os docentes desta escola precisam conhecer seus alunos dialogando com eles, trazendo para sala de aula a vivência de mundo que eles trazem de seu dia a dia. É muito importante estar atento ao que o aluno traz de seu cotidiano, segundo o pensador Paulo Freire é essencial essa mediação entre professores e alunos, desafiando eles em pesquisas usando a tecnologia ao seu favor. Propor uma inovação partindo primeiramente das propostas e os objetivos da escola, com diálogos, treinamentos e adaptação onde for necessário. A nova direção poderia começar com uma reunião propondo aos professores uma sondagem sobre os alunos a fim de averiguar o que trazem de bagagem, partindo então de um princípio já com algum conhecimento de causa. Nesta perspectiva professores já introduzem pesquisas para fomentar o interesse dos alunos. Professores sempre pesquisando com os alunos para terem essa interação entre ensino e aprendizagem. Novas tendências de ensino precisam andar juntas com as tecnologias e adversidades, por tanto, necessitam de estudo com toda equipe de trabalho.

Saber ler e escrever é tão importante quanto saber contar, a alfabetização matemática na infância é importante pois a criança aprende brincando. O letramento no ciclo da alfabetização abrange o processo ensino aprendizagem onde estão envoltos o conceito e o procedimento necessários para as práticas sociais de leitura e escrita. A discussão sobre o letramento matemático tem como referência as produções sobre o processo de letramento e aquisição da linguagem escrita que amplia a visão de alfabetização, sendo assim é importante destacar que as linguagens falada e escrita caminham atreladas a matemática, pois compartilham de uma mesma base cognitiva. Seu foco é a construção do conhecimento através de experiências concretas, da resolução de problemas, e de materiais como jogos e atividades lúdicas que priorizem desenvolver o pensamento lógico e o raciocínio matemático das crianças.
