    The progress of psychology, as a sphere of knowledge in sports sciences, is an area that is becoming increasingly consolidated in the market. We identified through research in scientific articles and through interviews with professionals working in the area, the highlight of how much sport psychology has been growing and conquering more and more its space, despite still suffering prejudice. This work aimed to show historical facts from the emergence to the development of this area.
