Leucemia canina: casos diagnosticados no período de 2003 a 2006
(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2007-09-30) SALA, Rodrigo V.; DAVANSO, André L.; SANCHES, Carolina D. C.; ARAÚJO, Luciana R.; BAILOME, Mayara C.; SIQUEIRA, Geraldo P.; BANDARRA, Márcio B.; DI SANTIS, Giovana W.; THOMÉ, Helder E.; MOURA, Veridiana M. B. D. de; BANDARRA, Enio P.
Leukemia is characterized by the presence of malignant neoplastic cells of hemolymphatic origin in the blood and / or bone marrow. They can be classified into lymphoblastic or myeloblastic, being divided into acute or chronic according to the predominant cell characteristic and subclassified according to the cell type found. As a definitive diagnosis, in addition to histopathological examination, other techniques such as immunohistochemistry, enzymatic cytochemistry and immunophenotyping can be used, which are more specific and effective for the classification of leukemias. Approximately 30% of canine leukemias are lymphoid. This study aimed to survey the cases of leukemia in dogs diagnosed by the Pathology Laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of São João da Boa Vista -SP - UNIFEOB, in the period from 2003 to 2006, totaling 10 cases of leukemia of origin lymphoid and three cases presenting foci of lymphadenization.

    Linfoma canino
(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2001-11-30) VIEIRA, Priscila M.; BANDARRA, Enio Pedone; MOURA, Veridiana M. B. D. de; BITTENCOURT Édina
Lymphomas are malignant neoplasms characterized by the proliferation of lymphocytes, histiocytes and their precursors and derivatives. In dogs the etiology is considered spontaneous, unlike what happens in human, feline, bovine, birds and some primates, where the etology can be viral. It affects adult dogs to the elderly, with no gender predisposition, but there is evidence that the racial factor should be considered. They can be classified according to anatomical shape, cytohistological characteristics and immunophenotype. The most frequent anatomical form is multicentric, which presents as generalized and painless lymphadenopathy. Intermediate and high grade lymphomas are the most common, however the literature presents varied data regarding the frequency of the immunophenotype T or B. Clinical signs vary according to the neoplasia's localization.
