(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2021-11-30) LEE, Brena; CARIOCA, Cecília; SANTOS, Marcelo Tavolaro dos; LONARDONI, Leandro; CELESTINO, Nanci Marcondes FERREIRA, Fabiana Bozelli Alves
The World Health Organization defines obesity as a chronic disease that has been threatening global health. (WHO, 1998). According to the organ, the causes that define the disease are of nature: genetic, metabolic, environmental and behavioral. According to (Francischi 2000) it is a multifactorial disease and with little evidence that certain genetic characteristics impact one population more than another. Thus, according to the author, dietary factors and physical activity are the main factors responsible for a population being more affected by this disease.
