Item Hepatite infecciosa canina(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2001-11-30) JUSTOLIN, Luciana TrevizanCanine infectious hepatitis is a disease caused by the canine adenovirus agent 1 and is rare today due to its high efficiency and the wide use of vaccines with modified viruses. Although unvaccinated dogs of any age can become infected, most cases occur in dogs under one year of age. Infection with adenovirus begins with oronasal exposure and the location of viruses in the tonsils. Haematogenic spread occurs over a period of 4 to 8 days of viremia. The virus has a distinct tropism for liver endothelial, mesothelial and parenchymal cells.
