This study was conducted to investigate the sperm profile of rabbits, evaluating concentration, motility vigor and incidence of sperm with changes in the compaction of genetic material (pathologies of the DNA protein complex), under normal conditions and under the influence of the transient increase in temperature testicular. Eight fertile rabbits were used evaluating the parameters of 3 ejaculates on alternate days and then the animals were subjected to an increase in testicular temperature for 3 days, collecting semen samples on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for 38 days for analysis. . Every 5 days a rabbit underwent orchiectomy for histological evaluation of testicles and epididymis.

    Criar ou não leitões refugos
(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2011-05-30) DEL SANTO, Tácia Antunes; COELHO, Felipe Pereira Moreno; MORAES, Maria Eugênia; PASSARELI, João; IVO, Marcos Alexandre
In the current pig industry, the level of productivity is notorious, providing the offer in the market of high-performance hybrid animals, the result of advances in genetic improvement. Today, modern pig farming aims at the maximum viable piglets / sow / year, but it is known that numerous piglets generate low viability animals (lower birth weight / refuse), not being a favorable resource for pig production. There are also other factors that can influence birth weight and compromise the herd. The purpose of the review is to address the characteristics of piglets with lower birth weight and the factors that interfere with their satisfactory performance until slaughter.

The canary of the land (sicalis flaveola) traditionally imprisoned by the indigenous people for its beautiful song, has six to nine pairs of syringeal muscles, which gives it greater vocalization. The males have a bright orange core and brown wings and the females are yellowish-chested and whitish in the belly, and the puppies have the same color as the female until six months of age. A balanced diet is essential for the well-being and reproductive success of passerines, and it is necessary that birds in captivity be fed basically with seeds and fruits. Various types of seeds are available such as millet, birdseed, oats, niger, flaxseed, hemp and password. The reproductive period of passerines in captivity usually occurs in spring and summer, the place has both well-lit, relative humidity of 60%, airy, with no draft and temperature around 25ºC.

Manejo alimentar e reprodutivo do trinca ferro (Saltator similis) em cativeiro
(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2010-05-30) NASCIMENTO, Priscila Leal do; TREVISAN, Thiago; IVO, Marcos Alexandre
This his literature review aims to describe the food and reproductive management of Trinca-Ferro (Saltator similis) in captivity, about 10,000 species of birds, of which almost a third occur in South America, considered the continent of birds. Brazil is recognized for its mega diversity, currently occupies the second place in numbers of bird species, with 1,822 species. The creation of Trinca-Ferro (Saltator similis) has been one of the greatest passions for bird breeders across Brazil. The bird has the characteristic of being very brave and of a lot of fiber, easy to read, excellent adaptation. Due to its strong and melodious singing, much appreciated by breeders, the natural populations of S. similis have been gradually decimated by the illegal traffic of wild animals. . This species can also be known in certain regions such as Pixarro, Estevão, Bico-de-Ferro, Tico-Tico Guloso, Trinca-Ferro-de-asa-verde, João Velho.

This research sought to evaluate the profile of a pig breeding as well as to analyze the environmental impacts and the manure management system when proposals were readjusted for the swine activity. This study was based on the collection of data through visits of the environments evaluating the environmental conditions, of treatment and, however, two water samples were collected and analyzed by the method of multiple tubes and the technique "Spread Plate". From the analyzed samples, it was verified that there is the presence of coliforms before the dumping of waste residues, however, after the dumping the number of coliforms increased. However, the treatment used in the pigsty is being inefficient, considerably increasing the contamination of coliforms, causing the proposition of some adequacy measures that should be put in practice to solve the problem.

The high productivity in swine breeding provides a supply of high-performance hybrid animals, the result of advances in genetic improvement. These animals, however, become more demanding, because when expressing characteristics of high productive and reproductive performance, they need a nutritional contribution that is properly interrelated with the different stages of development. The literature shows in this interrelationship nutrition and stages of reproduction in swine, a small number of studies, particularly with regard to the use of synthetic amino acids in diets of swine females during gestation. Studies have shown that the addition of synthetic amino acid to the diet of pregnant swine females contributes to a decrease in the consumption of crude protein, making the cost of production more economical. The aim of the present review is to discuss the use of synthetic amino acids in diets of high-performance and reproductive female swine in view of the requirements that this animal category needs.
