    There are numerous benefits and some risks when it comes to new technologies, but the purpose of this article is to convey the risks and benefits regarding the use of LED lamps in general lighting. Few people are aware of the risks that white LEDs bring to our eyes, as we are talking about bulbs that emit harmful blue light filtered by a phosphor layer that turns it white, but there is still a potential risk due to the spectrum of blue color that radiates from these light sources and causes retinal problems when improperly exposed for long periods of time. On the other hand, LED lighting brings several benefits, making this modality viable and ecologically correct.
