PDD in the canine species has been described in the Cairn Terriers breed, being of hereditary origin and in the Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso breeds, of acquired origin. In human medicine, the diagnosis is usually made during prenatal care by ultrasound examination. This study aims to report the intrauterine diagnosis of hydrops fetalis, in a poodle bitch in the final stage of pregnancy through ultrasound examination. The change was identified by the presence of pleural and peritoneal effusion.
