On 03/11, we visited the Progresso farm, located in the municipality of Vargem Grande Do Sul, São Paulo, where we were received by the owner and farmer, Tiago Milan, who kindly informed us that the aforementioned farm has 160 hectares, where various crops are cultivated. crops such as potatoes, corn, beans, sorghum, beets, among others and that on that date there were 18 hectares planted with soybeans, variety DS7417 IPRO, sown in mid-November, therefore already at R6 phenological stage.

Eggplant is the fruit of the solanum melongena plant, native to India. According to some historians, its cultivation began around four thousand years ago as an ornamental plant. It arrived in Europe in the 13th century, via the Arabs of the Iberian peninsula. In regions with a hot climate, the planting season lasts all year round. Eggplant is normally grown in single rows, with spacing varying from 1.2 to 1.5 and from 0.6 to 1.0 between plants. Depending on the variety, the harvest lasts three months or more, from 90 to 110 days after sowing. During harvest, be careful when handling the fruits. They are very sensitive to crushing and damage to tools and other materials. Potassium is essential for the growth, resistance to stress and quality of eggplant fruits, influencing protein synthesis and disease resistance. Calcium contributes to the formation of the cell wall, preventing disorders such as apical rot, regulating soil pH and promoting a healthy root system. Monitoring and adjusting adequate levels of these nutrients in the soil is crucial to optimizing eggplant production and quality.

A propriedade localiza-se em Vargem Grande do Sul SP. Área Total: 132 hectares. Sua atividade agrícola apresenta uma grande variedade: Cana de Açúcar, Milho Verde, Quiabo, Abobrinha e Soja, que são divididos em 16 hectares. Área de Cana-de-Açúcar: 104 hectares (variedade RB801816). Área de Apoio: 12 hectares contendo Benfeitorias / Açude / Reserva Legal Nível tecnológico classificado como intermediário, uma vez que os equipamentos da fazenda não dispõem de tecnologias como piloto automático para agricultura de precisão, ou aplicação de fertilizantes ou defensivos em taxa variável, não fazem uso de drones, etc. Porém, todo o manejo da cultura é baseado nos resultados das analises de solo feitas regularmente pelo proprietário.

Sistema de Produção e Rebanho: Produção Leiteira: 32 vacas (Girolando e meio-sangue) 300 litros/dia, Ração: 120 kg/dia (milho + soja 24%) – apenas as vacas. Volumosos: silagem de milho (BM 3066), cana, sorgo, capiaçu. Reprodução e Corte: 1 touro Nelore, 72 bezerros (Girolando × Nelore) para venda.
