    Microambiente tumoral angiogênese
(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2023-10-18) FURLAN, Ana Paula; VARGAS, Thiago Henrique Moroni
The tumor microenvironment is a complex and dynamic environment that involves not only cancer cells, but also a variety of stromal cells, extracellular molecules and blood vessels. Among the many biological processes that occur in the tumor microenvironment, neovascularization, or the formation of new blood vessels, plays a fundamental role in cancer progression. Tumor angiogenesis is regulated by several soluble factors, including vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), which is produced by both cancer cells and surrounding stromal cells. These soluble factors stimulate the formation of new blood vessels in the tumor, providing nutrients and oxygen to cancer cells and allowing them to grow and spread to other parts of the body. The study of the tumor microenvironment and Angiogenesis has been the subject of much research, with the aim of developing new cancer therapies that target these biological processes and improve treatment efficacy.
