Item Vascularização da cabeça de gambás(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) FRANCIOLI, André Luis Rezende; SIKINGER, Carlos Eduardo; AMBRÓSIO, Carlos Eduardo; CARVALHO, Ana Flávia de; MANÇANARES, Celina de Almeida Furlanetto; MIGLINO, Maria Angélica; ROSA, Ricardo Alexandre; HOFMANN, Roberto16 opossums from natural death or being run over were used. The techniques used were injection of 10% formaldehyde followed by injection of latex (blue for the veins and red for the arteries) in the jugular vein and thoracic aorta, in the cranial direction, respectively, and dissection of the vessels. Vascularization occurs through the common carotid arteries, which branch into internal and external carotid arteries. The jugular vein branches into internal and external. The internal carotid artery goes through divergent caudal and rostral branches to the brain, called the occipital artery. The external carotid artery goes cranially over the pharynx, branching into the facial, lingual and maxillary arteries.
