Practices that develop students' awareness of sustainability, the impact of our choices in collective environments and our role in environmental balance are fundamental to the educational process and must be described in the schools' Pedagogical Proposal. These practices must be linked to the curriculum and assessment developed at the school, through the didactic sequences existing in the lesson plans, aiming to develop these skills. After getting to know the school and its physical space, the group must prepare a proposal for intervention in some environment of the school, with the objective of transforming it into a space in tune with the needs of the school community. After preparing the Proposal, the group must present it to the school community. The Proposal aims to involve the skills studied in the module, promoting situations that challenge the students, allowing them to appropriate different languages and knowledge, ensuring the expression of their interests, desires and curiosities and valuing individual and collective productions.

Early childhood education is important for several reasons, including because it marks the beginning of children's schooling and is considered the first stage of basic education; secondly, because of the particular characteristics of children and their childhoods. Early childhood education is where the educational process begins in search of the integral development of the human being, involving aspects of care and education, and the educational stage is today guaranteed as a right to all children from 0 to 5 years of age. Early childhood education is considered the first stage of basic education, as established in the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education (Law No. 9394/96), and must be offered in daycare centers and preschools. These educational spaces, whether public or private, are intended to educate and develop children from 0 to 5 years of age. Early childhood education teachers cannot consider a routine as something monotonous and repetitive. The early childhood education routine must be dynamic, creative and organized based on the group of children in each class.

This publication aims to share the Integrated Project developed by students of the Pedagogy course at UNIFEOB in the Language Pedagogical Practice module, taken in the second semester of 2023. The course's curricular structure is composed of thematic modules that aim at the student's comprehensive development, that is, the improvement of specific knowledge, skills, and attitudes related to the course. In this way, by working on knowledge related to skills and attitudes, at the end of the course the student will have more autonomy to manage their professional life. Thus, during each academic semester, students develop the Integrated Project (IP), articulating knowledge and skills worked on in the study units with the guidance of a module professor, who leads and organizes this practice. The IP is, therefore, a teaching-learning didactic strategy whose objective is to materialize the interdisciplinarity between the knowledge covered during the course that allows the student to put into practice the skills that are intended to be developed in each module. The IP completion process provides support for students to develop skills related to the course's professional profile.

This project contributes to Sustainable Development Goal number 4, “Quality Education”, defined by the United Nations (UN). This extension and School Management Practice project is justified by the fact that education is one of the pillars for the social transformation of a country, given its importance and its power to provide conditions for the development of educational practices with children and adolescents in urban and rural communities (ALVES; WECHINEWSKY, 2022).

O projeto “Nossa Escola dos Sonhos” é uma oportunidade única para integrar conhecimentos teóricos e práticos das disciplinas de História da Educação, Pensamento Social e Educação e Aprendendo a Aprender, aplicando-os de maneira significativa na formação das crianças. Essa iniciativa visa promover a reflexão crítica sobre a escola enquanto espaço de aprendizado, inclusão e transformação social, proporcionando às crianças uma experiência lúdica e educativa que conecta passado, presente e futuro. O projeto permite que as crianças compreendam como a escola evoluiu ao longo do tempo, destacando mudanças em seus métodos, estruturas e objetivos. Ao conhecerem exemplos de escolas do passado e refletirem sobre como desejam que as escolas do futuro sejam, elas aprendem que a educação é uma construção social em constante transformação. Isso fortalece nelas a percepção de que sua participação, mesmo enquanto crianças, é fundamental para imaginar e moldar o futuro da educação.

Conhecer como os estudantes percebem sua própria aprendizagem e sua escola é uma estratégia essencial para alinhar as práticas pedagógicas às reais necessidades da comunidade escolar. Muitas vezes, o olhar dos alunos não é considerado em planejamentos e avaliações, mas ele traz informações riquíssimas sobre o que realmente funciona no processo educativo, o que motiva ou desmotiva, e quais elementos da escola contribuem para o desenvolvimento integral. Nos primeiros anos do Ensino Fundamental e na Educação Infantil, dar voz às crianças possibilita compreender como elas vivenciam a escola no dia a dia. Suas percepções, mesmo quando expressas em desenhos, palavras simples ou pequenas frases, são importantes indicadores para a gestão e para os professores repensarem metodologias, espaços e formas de comunicação.
