Some reports have been made about this species, but many relevant data have not been published, emphasizing basic concepts of morphology and biometrics, which could be extremely useful for the development of reproductive biotechnologies, aiming at the preservation of the species. For this study, two animals donated by UFRA – PA were used, in which the microscopic characteristics of the female reproductive system were analyzed, in order to clarify the peculiar aspects of the species. The results obtained reveal that the ovaries, fallopian tubes and uterus are similar histologically to those of domestic animals.
