When teaching mathematics to children aged 6 to 7, it is essential to understand that each child has their own pace and assimilation in this journey of numerical discovery. For this reason, the interaction of the child with their environment is very important for the construction of knowledge. We also emphasize the crucial role of social interaction and the support of parents and adults in learning. Respecting their level and development process, stimulating their imagination and integrating playful activities that allow them to develop fully are also essential for achieving success in the learning process. We will work on how to apply these principles in a case study with Suzana and her students.

In the current context, where education takes different forms and platforms, we understand that the home environment plays an essential role in children's academic development. That's why it's important to dedicate quality time to interacting with children, which ends up being an effective strategy to strengthen their educational life. Create solid emotional bonds with the family, Characterized by open communication and emotional support, it can provide an essential environment for a child's academic growth. However, it is essential to understand that this task demands time and continuous effort, as each child has their own individuality and, consequently, different ways of establishing this emotional bond. However, we need to emphasize that building this bond is not a trivial task; on the contrary, it is an investment that requires persistence and patience to understand our children, their emotions and desires.

Reading is capable of transforming human beings and, consequently, the world. When reading, we develop linguistic, interpretative, reasoning, concentration, expression and creativity skills, among others. Paulo Freire goes further and says that “reading is becoming aware, is to interpret the world” and that we all want and need to be capable of that. That is why it is so important that families and educators ensure that our students have access to this gateway to the infinite knowledge of the world and can, through reading, identify and value their human power. Remembering that the practice of reading affects the cognitive, social and emotional development of the individual.

(2025-04-30) FELISBERTO, Ana Julia; ZANGIACOMI, Antonia Alvisi; DAMALIO, Brenda Carvalho; BERNARDINO, Débora Pereira Martins; SUEIT, Laura Bianucci; MÉDICI, Fátima Aparecida; FERREIRA, Ingridy Karoline Nogueira
