MUCUNA-PRETA (MUCUNA ATERRIMA)Originally from Africa, with a climbing growth habit from planting to full flowering, it is 140 to 180 days. Late planting brings flowering forward by a few weeks. Produces from 40 to 50 tons of green mass, 6 to 9 tons of dry and fixed mass between 180 and 350 kg of N per ha/harvest. Being a bad host for pests, I contributed to the increase in organic matter in the soil and the consequent increase in the population of microorganisms unfavorable to nematodes; has a positive allelopathic effect on the sedge (Cyperus rotundus L.) and is very tolerant to aluminum in the soil.
