- Item Adenocarcinoma de glândula salivar em cão: relato de caso(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2001-11-30) GOIOZO, Paulo Felipe Izique; MOURA, Veridiana M.B. Dignani de; BANDARRA, Enio P.The corpse of a dog of the Dobermann breed, female, approximately eight years old, cachectic, dehydrated and with a history of increased volume in the last nine months, was referred to the Pathology Service of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine '' Octávio Bastos '' progressive in the cervical region. Subjected to necroscopic examination, it was observed that the cervical mass occupied the parotid region and at the cut presented bloody mucus content located in connective tissue stores, infiltrating the adjacent tissues; collected material and processed for histopathological examination, allowed the diagnosis of papillary adenocarcinoma of the salivary gland, in addition to pulmonary congestion and edema, and the liver showed periportal fibrosis, dilation of the sinusoid spaces and hepatic necrosis.
- Item Aspectos macro e microscópico de leishmaniose canina(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2001-11-30) LIMA, Marcela C. de; GOIOZO, Paulo F. L.; BANDARRA, Enio P.; BONATELLI, Marina; CARVALHO, Ana Flavia deThe classification and nomenclature of Leishimanias offer enormous difficulties, because all species are morphologically very similar; cause diseases with different clinical characteristics and so peculiar that they cannot attribute their etiology to the same pathogen. This classification is traditionally based on geographic distribution (Old World and New World), clinical symptoms, pathological findings and serology BRAVO et al. (1993). According to LOPES et al. (1987) leishimaniasis is an inflammatory disease of the skin, mucosa or viscera, caused by protozoan parasites, mandatory intracellular kinetoplastids, transmitted through the bites of infected sandflies.
- Item Carbùnculo sintomático(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2001-11-30) THOMÉ, Helder Esteves; SIQUEIRA, Júlio L.; BANDARRA, Enio P.Clostridiosis are often fatal toxinfections, caused by bacteria of the genus Clostridium, which penetrate the animal body in sporulated form through contaminated food, wounds or inhalation. The symptomatic carbuncle progresses rapidly and usually results in death in a few days, due to this there may be no clinical signs, but when present, it can be fever, tachypinea, anorexia, apathy and lameness in one or more limbs. These diseases lead to considerable losses in the herd, therefore the control and prophylaxis must be rigorous and based on adequate management measures and systematic vaccinations of the herd. This work aims to describe the clinical, necroscopic, etiology and epidemiology findings of this condition.
- Item Condrossarcoma em cão: relato de um caso(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2001-11-30) MANÇANARES, Celina de Almeida Furlanetto; LOPES, Paula R.; HATSCHBACH, Eduardo; DI SANTIS, Giovana G. W.; BANDARRA, Enio P.; ALVES, Jefferson Douglas SoaresChondrosarcoma is the second most common malignant matrix-producing bone tumor. It consists of irregular and disordered masses of immature cartilage that invade the tissues and metastasize through the lymphatic and blood circulations. It affects all species, but is more common in adult dogs of large breeds and in sheep.
- Item Estudo do desenvolvimento prostático em cães neonatos da raça Rotweiller(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2001-11-30) LIMA, Marcelo C. de; CARVALHO, Ana Flávia de; BANDARRA, Enio P.; LAUFER, Renne; BONATELLI, MarinaFour Rotweiller dog prostates were used, neonates analyzed macro and microscopically. They were anatomically positioned, caudally after the urinary bladder, entering the pelvic bone. They showed a tissue mass surrounding the pelvic urethra. They had two wolves measuring 0.9 cm long and 0.6 cm wide, with a volume of 0.82 ml, and weight 0.80 g. Histologically, the prostatic body was covered by connective tissue and tubule - alveolar portions were observed whose alveoli were covered by an epithelium not yet defined. The stroma had dense non-modeled connective tissue surrounding the secretory portion and muscle fibers. Among the wolves, we observe the prostatic urethra.
- Item Hemangiossarcoma como causa de hemopericárdio em cão(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2001-11-30) BITTENCOURT, Édina; MOURA, Veridiana M.B. Dignani de; BANDARRA, Enio P.Hemangiosarcoma is a malignant neoplasm of endothelial cells, common in elderly dogs. The present work describes the case of a hemangiosarcoma located in the right atrium, liver and spleen of a 12-year-old dog with a history of sudden death. The necroscopic examination revealed rupture of the atrial and hemopericardial neoplasia. Histopathological and immunohistochemical tests allowed the definitive diagnosis of the neoplasm.
- Item Leucemia canina: casos diagnosticados no período de 2003 a 2006(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2007-09-30) SALA, Rodrigo V.; DAVANSO, André L.; SANCHES, Carolina D. C.; ARAÚJO, Luciana R.; BAILOME, Mayara C.; SIQUEIRA, Geraldo P.; BANDARRA, Márcio B.; DI SANTIS, Giovana W.; THOMÉ, Helder E.; MOURA, Veridiana M. B. D. de; BANDARRA, Enio P.Leukemia is characterized by the presence of malignant neoplastic cells of hemolymphatic origin in the blood and / or bone marrow. They can be classified into lymphoblastic or myeloblastic, being divided into acute or chronic according to the predominant cell characteristic and subclassified according to the cell type found. As a definitive diagnosis, in addition to histopathological examination, other techniques such as immunohistochemistry, enzymatic cytochemistry and immunophenotyping can be used, which are more specific and effective for the classification of leukemias. Approximately 30% of canine leukemias are lymphoid. This study aimed to survey the cases of leukemia in dogs diagnosed by the Pathology Laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of São João da Boa Vista -SP - UNIFEOB, in the period from 2003 to 2006, totaling 10 cases of leukemia of origin lymphoid and three cases presenting foci of lymphadenization.
