The students in focus in this work were those from the first and last modules of the Nursing course; with the objective of identifying the main difficulties of the beginner in the university, with all their expectations and frustrations; and of those who are finishing their graduation and worried about their insertion in the job market. Aspects such as anxiety and the stress of academic life are responsible for the development of depression in students and can lead them to drop out of the course. For a better analysis of this situation, the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale for Adults (DASS-21 – short form) was used.
